Stirring the Fire would like to announce our new multimedia workshops. STF workshops will serve to help nonprofits that work to promote gender equality, to tell their story and give them online strategies to get that story in front of the audience they need to reach.

The seventh day of our Inspire Changemakers campaign comes to us from Rebecca who is currently traveling with Carpe Diem Education. During her trip she visited Mufindi Orphans Inc. and shares with us the work they are doing to empower women entrepreneurs and combat the HIV-AIDS epidemic and resulting orphans dilemma in Tanzania.
Advocate Safehouse Project is a community based non-profit in Glenwood Springs, Colorado whose mission is to, ‘promote healthy relationships free from violence through education, advocacy, empowerment, and safe housing.
PACE Center for Girls is our fifth feature this week by Maisy Page, and is a wonderful organization that empowers youth through education, advocacy, training, and much more!
For the fourth day of our Inspire Changemakers Campaign, our guest blogger Sunni Campell features Reel Grrls, a nonprofit organization empowering young women and girls through media literacy, film, and media!
We continue with our third guest blogger Roya Jalili as part of our Inspire Changemakers Campaign. On day three we share with you an interview with Women for Afghan Women located in Queens, NY and Afghanistan. This human rights organization works to support refugee families from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Morocco.
Today we hear from Amanda Coen from N.Y. who video interviewed the Lower Eastside Girls Club in Manhattan. The Girls Club is a place where young women can feel empowered, become inspired, and grow into strong independent women of the world!

We are please to announce that Emily Lohmeyer, a student at the University of San Diego, is the inaugural recipient of the "Stirring the Fire" Fellowship, a $3,000 grant made to the University of San Diego by social documentary photographer Phil Borges and Stirring the Fire. Learn more about Emily’s fellowship on our blog, and stay updated with Emily's reports from the field in Nakuru, Kenya where she is currently volunteering with Sure 24, a local orphanage for children.

Phil traveled to Liberia to document the work of Foundation for Women (FFW), an organization that strives to continually support and encourage impoverished women, both globally and locally, by funding and creating microcredit programs. A longtime supporter of Phil and his work, Kevin Castner accompanied him and reported back to us from the field.
